There must always be a meaning to a name…. Is that not what we expect when hear a name for the first time? Often, we are tempted to ask what the name means or what influenced the naming and at times stories that that can be told about some naming processes can be quite hilarious, inspiring or can sometimes bring an ‘aha’ moment.
We want to try and explain the name SPRING HUB PUBLISHING.
So initially it was inspired by the book of Isaiah, yes, Isaiah the prophet in the 43rd Chapter verse 19, where he says, ‘Behold I am doing a new thing, now it SPRINGS FORTH, do you not perceive it?’ The key naming word became SPRING.
Normal company registration process requires that you suggest at least three names. We could only provide two names that had the keyword SPRING and that had meaning in relation to the Prophet’s words. Both were turned down as apparently, they were taken. After a lot of back and forth, uncertainties and indecisiveness, Spring Hub Publishing came as the next best option that answered the one main requirement of including the word SPRING, but wasn’t exactly meaning anything close to what the Prophet had meant in the Holy Book. Reluctantly we accepted the name, being happy at least that we were now formally ‘born’.
We immediately got busy in production and started churning out books like we were meant to do.
Now looking back at the short five years we have been in existence, the work culture and dedication already put into production of a variety of products, cutting across different grades and learning areas, the name SPRING HUB PUBLISHING does seem to indeed be an appropriate name.
Our production output is like a SPRING, continuously pumping out new, life-giving waters in the form of quality, appropriately evolving and relevant education material for our learners. As the portfolio grows, and new teaching methods are developed in response to the times, we are indeed creating a HUB of SPRINGS, so yes, we are appropriately named as SPRING HUB PUBLISHING.
